The project Family Encounters has selected associations! This project, funded by Moniheli, seeks to strengthen cultural mediation actions for wellbeing, integration and sense of belonging of communities and families. This project will be focused on creating a pilot format for encounters, designed for families with small children (aged 0-2,5 years old) that belong to the Arabic, Filipino, Hindi, Portuguese and Vietnamese-speaking communities.
We launched an open call to find ally associations connected with these communities, based in Espoo, Vantaa or Helsinki. Please find more info about the selection criteria here.
We received 8 applications to co-create cultural proposals in Arabic, Hindi and Portuguese languages. Thank you so much to all the participating associations that applied, but unfortunately we couldn’t select you all.
Selected associations for Family Encounters:
- Suomi-Syyria Ystävyysseura ry.
- Finnish Human Rights Advocates Ry.
- White Hands ry.
- Bihar Jharkhand Finland.
- Associação de Professores de Português na Finlândia.
The members of the selection team were Laura Gazzotti, Emily Guan, Alicia Sevilla and Marta Bermúdez.
We will contact the selected associations this week to share the next steps with you. Please check the contact email you included in your application form.
