
Kulttuurikeskus Ninho ry invites professional artists, educators, storytellers, and musicians to be part of our upcoming KABOOKS! 2026 season. We are looking for storytellers and musicians who can perform musical-multilingual storytelling sessions to children aged 6 months – 2.5 years old years old.
What is KABOOKS!?
KABOOKS! is a interactive multilingual, musical story time journey aimed at families and children. It is a polyphonic experience that brings oral traditions and pages of books to life through storytelling and live music.
Every session lasts 35 minutes, and it’s led by professional storyteller and musician.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for professional storytellers and musicians who:
· Have experience working with children aged 6 months
· Are native speakers of minority heritage languages used in Finland, including Sami, Finnish Romani and Karelian languages.
· Are interested in co-creating and facilitating an interactive Kabooks events in your own heritage languages for small ones: 6 months – 2.5 years old and their families.
· Offers interactive proposal that combines stories, songs, games and sensorial and music experimentation using your heritage language for children and their families.
We prioritize professional artists from facing social, cultural, or employment-related challenges. As well we have special consideration artist from Sami, Roma and Karelian, Somali, Arabic – native language speakers but not exclusively.
Payment is by invoices.
Our KABOOKS! Sessions usually take place in the Helsinki metropolitan area, so artists should easily reach Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa.

• Foster Cultural Inclusivity: Creating a welcoming space for families from minority backgrounds to celebrate their identity.
• Support Migrant Artists: Providing professional opportunities for diverse artists to showcase their work in Finland.
