Kulttuurikeskus Ninho is celebrating another year of the Multilingual Month in Finland! Satakielikuukausi 2025 is a very special event for us, and as always, we’ll be participating with our traditional Reading Together, with storytelling sessions in Spanish and Portuguese.
Satakielikuukausi is the Nordic month of multilingualism and heritage languages. From February 21 to March 21, the program offers all kinds of activities and events to celebrate the richness of linguistic and cultural diversity.

Reading Together | Storytelling marathon in Oodi – Helsinki
The traditional storytelling marathons for children are back at Oodi to commemorate Satakielikuukausi 2025.

Lemos Juntos | Storytelling in Portuguese for Satakielikuukausi 2025
Our program will kick off with Lemos Juntos, the Portuguese storytelling session featuring fun stories and characters from Portuguese-speaking countries.

Spanish meetups for families with children for Satakielikuukausi 2025
As part of the Satakielikuukausi 2025 program, Ninho is also offering PICNIC-Walkers and PICNIC-Babies meetups for Spanish-speaking families, which have already started their Spring 2025 season.

If you want to read with your children in Spanish or Portuguese, remember that you have the Kolibrí Collection in Spanish, with hundreds of children’s books in Spanish, and the Helmet collection of children’s books in Spanish.
The Multilingual Library has also a beautiful and updated collection of children’s books in Portuguese. Most of these books have been delivered to the Vantaa collection of children’s books in Spanish, and Multilingual Library, through the Ninho Book Program.
